Tom has had a colourful career to date. Having completed college in 1998 studying construction and the built environment he then briefly worked a site manager for a Northern Ireland based firm RG Coulter Ltd. However within 12 months a sense of adventure and challenge led him to join the Royal Marines. On completion of 30 weeks training he served as a Royal Marines Commando for 5 years which included tours of Northern Ireland and Iraq.

On leaving the armed services Tom then worked as a site manager for a London based high end  residential contractor in 2006 – 2008 before employment with the now national contractor Keepmoat. Between 2008 and 2013 Thomas gained three promotions within Keepmoat from site manager through to senior contracts manager before taking the decision to leave and run his own business.

Tom established BMR in 2013 with a desire to build a construction company that would provide a working environment for its staff and trades where they would be treated with genuine value, fairness and be encouraged to progress. He also desired that BMR would be a company of integrity, good quality building and longevity. 10 years on those desires have come to fruition which can be evidenced in speaking with staff both past and present and it can be seen in client repeated work orders and references. That said whilst achievements to date have been notable Tom is not satisfied to sit still and coast, but has now in 2024 taken steps to grow the business further and establish BMR as a significant long term employer and provider of construction services in London and the south east of England.
